State Senator Chris Balkema (R-Channahon) and State Representative Dennis Tipsword (R- Metamora) are inviting those who live in their districts to their Senior Expo, where there are opportunities for blood pressure screenings, prescription drug disposals, personal hygiene collections, I-Cash claiming, and more. This event will be held at the Pontiac Parks & Recreation Center on Wednesday, August 6, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. This event will also feature information on topics such as assisted living, organ donation, nuance glasses, veteran services, homebound book delivery, Alzheimer’s programs, and more.
“It is extremely important for services like these to be easily accessible to the public,” said Senator Balkema. “It’s a pleasure to offer these free services for the shared constituencies we serve.”

This Expo has over 30 participants, including the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs, Meridian Health, Livingston Cunty Health Department, Office of the Illinois Secretary of State, OSF Healthcare, Pontiac Public Library, Alzheimer’s Association, VITAS Healthcare, and many more! Their services will be available at this event on August 6. Constituents are encouraged to come and enjoy what these participants have to offer, and refreshments.
