Happy 207th Birthday Illinois
December 3rd marks Illinois’ 207th birthday. Since joining the Union in 1818, our state has grown into a leader in agriculture, transportation, education, and innovation, shaped by generations who built their lives and communities here. Today is a moment to celebrate what makes Illinois home and reflect on the history that guides our future, as we continue working toward a stronger state for every Illinois family.

Central Illinois Chapter SHRM Educational Conference
I was glad to recently share my perspective at the Central Illinois Chapter SHRM Educational Conference on how the policies we pass in Springfield directly affect our workforce, workplaces, and the families who rely on them.

Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy
I had a great visit to Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) Official Site, where Illinois’ next generation of innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs are being shaped. For nearly four decades, IMSA students and alumni have driven breakthroughs in STEM and strengthened our state’s leadership in talent development.
Support for IMSA helps ensure that high-potential students from every corner of Illinois — including those whose home districts may lack resources — have access to advanced learning, mentorship, and transformative research opportunities. Proud to champion programs that open doors for young people and keep Illinois on the forefront of innovation.
Also, my staff, Morgan and Miles, attended IMSA’s Take Your Legislator to School Day and got to speak with the students some more!
