It’s 7:30 p.m. and we’re still here at the Capitol.
Once again, Springfield’s answer to every problem is the same — raise taxes on working families.
Now, Democrats want to make it even harder for families to get by with a nearly $2 billion bailout for Chicago’s transit system, funded by new tax hikes on:
Gas and groceries
Deliveries and childcare
Streaming services like Netflix
Home sales
Haircuts and car repairs
Speed cameras and tolls
Families are already cutting back to make ends meet — they shouldn’t have to sacrifice more because Springfield can’t control its spending.
I’ll continue fighting to protect working families from another tax increase.
